Daddy Yankee, Sebastian Yatra, Jonas Brothers and Natti Natasha take over the top spot on the Latin Airplay chart with “Runaway.” Surprising it took this long since the track was released back in June. The song has drawn an audience of 14.31 million according to Nielsen Music. Runaway is also in the number one spot on the Latin Rhythm Airplay chart and in the number three spot on the Latin Pop Airplay.
The trend of artists that primarily record in English, but also are eligible for Latin Airplay charts continues. The Jonas Brothers are only with the latest. Previous examples of this were Katy Perry’s “Con Calma” with Daddy Yankee, Drake’s “MIA” with Bad Bunny and Justin Bieber’s “Despacito” with Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee. It’s a trend.
